It's been a few uneventful days of work here in Japan between our offices in Kawasaki and closer to the hotel here in Tokyo.
Weather was cold and rainy yesterday, while today was clear and crisp. Gene and I taxied to work today at the Tokyo office - cost about 1,000Yen. Yesterday, we walked down (5min walk) to the Shinagawa Station near the hotel - supposedly the 2nd busiest train station in Japan, only behind Tokyo Station - bought round trip tickets to Kawasaki on the JR Line for ~450Yen, and then navigated our way through the bustling throngs of Japanese commuters to our train bound for Kawasaki.
It's quite the event commuting here... seems like there are a gazillion commuters, a never ending flow of them, all trying to get to and from wherever on time. Even with so many folks raging around, it's all very quiet and orderly - relatively speaking.
Haven't had a whole lot of time to do much except work therefore, not much to share with you. Tokyo and surrounding 'burbs are much like many other large, sprawling cities and the uniqueness wears off about Day 2/3 once you get into the swing of work. I hope to have some time late Thursday and a bit into Friday before I depart for Sydney, Australia, to do a little sight-seeing, photographing.
Until my next post....
I hear you are in the land of Oz now!! Can't wait to see pics of my former temporary homeland!! :-)
